Vacuum twice a month: Vacuuming new wool carpets at least twice a month will keep your rug from shedding. After a few months, the shedding will reduce. You can only vacuum a wool rug with a vacuum cleaner designed for wool carpets, so that the fibre doesn’t get stuck.
Clean the underside: Vacuum the underside of the rug every two months or so to remove dust and grime that has travelled through the fibres.
Get rid of liquid stains: To remove liquid stains, use a gentle, dry cloth to blot the spill. If the liquid leaves a stain on the carpet, you can remove it with a spot remover. In a cup filled with cold water, dissolve a little amount of dishwashing detergent. Use sponge and soap to gently remove the remaining stain, then wipe the area with a dry cloth.
Have it professionally cleaned: It is recommended to get your wool rug professionally cleaned about once each year, depending on how often you use it.
